Verona Valerio Catullo (VRN) (www.aeroportoverona.it): Verona is about 1 hour away by train from Trento. From the Verona Valerio Catullo airport to the Verona Porta Nuova railway station there is a shuttle bus service available everyday every 20 minutes (tickets can be purchased on-board). For train tickets and train schedule to Trento please visit Trenitalia (www.trenitalia.com). Please note that the last train to Trento leaves at 22:49 from Verona Porta Nuova station, so be prepared to spend one night in Verona in case your flight arrives later.

Milano Malpensa (MXP) and Milano Linate (www.sea-aeroportimilano.it) are about 3.5 hours by train from Trento. From the Malpensa airport take either the express train or the shuttle bus (www.terravision.eu) to Milano Centrale Station (allow 1 hour to get there). Please refer to the Trenitalia website for train schedule and prices (www.trenitalia.com). Also from Milano Linate there are shuttle connections to Milano Central Station.

Bergamo Orio al Serio (www.orioaeroporto.it) is about 3.5 hours by train from Trento. From the Bergamo Orio al Serio airport take either the express train or the shuttle bus (www.terravision.eu) to Milano Centrale Station (allow 1 hour to get there). Venice (VCE) (www.veniceairport.it) is about 2.5 hours by train to Trento. The Venice airport is well connected to the city by public transportation lines (www.atvo.it) and to the railway station in Mestre. From the Mestre railway station take the train to Trento (prices and timetables www.trenitalia.com).

Munich (www.munich-airport.de) can also be considered to reach Trento. Trento can be directly reached by train from Munich and two train lines link the airport to Munich Hauptbahnhof (main station). By train:

Train tickets can be purchased at the railway station. Italian train tickets must be clocked-in at the yellow machines available at the platform (binario) before getting on the train so as not to incur in a fine. Please note that there are 2 train classes: 1st (prima) or 2nd (seconda) class. First class is more comfortable and about 60% more expensive.

Transportation in Trento:

Bus: the town has an efficient urban travel system (orange buses) run by Trentino Trasporti Spa (www.ttesercizio.it).
Please be aware that tickets must be purchased before getting on board at newsagents’ or at the train station and must be clocked-in after getting on the bus (price 1,20 €).
To reach the FBK Povo Scientific Hub you can catch bus n.5 (suggested) or n.13. Bus n.13 also reaches FBK ECT* in Villazzano.
